Breakthrough Collection Spring/Summer 2023

Observing Spring beginning this year from roots shooting through in plants, plants bursting through iced water to sunlight on crystals forming shapes and patterns on walls led to my idea of the Breakthrough Collection. The colours of the plants/images that I photographed were vibrant at times but softer at other times indicating that Spring was still to develop into Summer. 

I have initially used vibrant colours for this project but softened them to represent Summer and used fading and overlay on my patterns to represent spring breaking through and summer arrival. Additionally each design has been given a name representing in some way a breakthrough as part of the Breakthrough Collection.
